Idealo Sync is a Shopify app by Stormdevs that creates and updates an idealo CSV product feed. You still need your own idealo merchant account. Successful feed delivery does not guarantee idealo will list every offer.
An idealo feed connects your Shopify catalog with the price comparison platform. It carries product and offer data such as title, price, availability, EAN, shipping cost, and delivery time. Idealo Sync turns those records into a downloadable CSV file with a stable feed URL.

Preparation: what you need
Before mapping fields, make sure four foundations are in place:
- An active Shopify store with published products and variants.
- An enabled idealo Business account for your shop.
- Maintained prices, inventory, product URLs, and main images in Shopify.
- A clear source for EAN/GTIN, shipping cost, and delivery time.
Also confirm that variants have unique SKUs or barcodes. This matters especially when one Shopify product has multiple sizes, colours, or configurations.
Required and useful additional fields
Idealo Sync validates a defined set of fields for every exported variant.

You can also provide descriptions, additional images, manufacturer part numbers, condition, and custom columns. EAN/GTIN and manufacturer identifiers help idealo associate an offer with the correct catalog product.
Set up Idealo Sync in Shopify
Install the app
Install Idealo Sync from the Shopify App Store. Once connected, the app reads published products, variants, prices, inventory, images, and selected metafields.
Select products
Export all products or limit the feed to collections and individual SKUs. For an initial test, use a representative sample containing a simple product and at least one product with multiple variants.
Map fields
Review every required mapping. You can replace Shopify defaults, define fallbacks, and add custom metafields for values such as brand, EAN, delivery time, and shipping cost.
Build the feed
Save the selection and trigger a rebuild. The app creates one CSV row for every selected variant and displays the product count, feed URL, and validation status.
Review and validate the feed
Open the feed preview and inspect concrete products first. Before launch, confirm:
- Every variant has a stable ID or SKU.
- Price and currency match Shopify.
- EAN/GTIN belongs to the correct variant.
- Product and image URLs are publicly reachable.
- Availability uses a supported value.
- Shipping cost and delivery time are populated.
Resolve errors before sharing the URL. Warnings commonly flag non-standard values or missing optional information.
Add the feed to idealo Business
- Copy the stable feed URL from Idealo Sync.
- Open technical integration in your idealo Business account.
- Select the feed or URL connection offered for your account.
- Enter the HTTPS URL and complete setup.
- After import, review which offers are online, offline, or not yet matched.

Common errors and solutions

Keep the feed current
Idealo Sync rebuilds active feeds regularly. After major catalog, price, or mapping changes, trigger an additional manual rebuild and review validation.
- Check new products for EAN, brand, category, shipping, and delivery time.
- Review variants after changing options or SKUs.
- Monitor retrievals and possible HTTP errors.
- Compare Shopify prices with idealo offers using spot checks.
FAQ
How long does setup take?
With maintained product data, you can usually create the first feed in 30 to 90 minutes. Approval and processing by idealo happen separately.
Can I export selected products only?
Yes. You can use all products, selected collections, or individual SKUs.
Do I need metafields?
Not for every field. They are particularly useful for idealo-specific EAN, brand, shipping, and delivery-time values.
Does the feed URL remain stable?
Yes. idealo retrieves the same URL while Idealo Sync updates the CSV file behind it.
